THERE ARE TIMES...

In life, there are times when we are faced with sorrow,
And the troubles of our yesterday keep us from seeing a brighter tomorrow,
But it is at such a time as this that we ought to appreciate the works of nature,
And with the right attitude look into the future,

In friendship, there are times when we are faced with a dilemma-to choose between ourselves and the ones we love,
And sometimes the cares of this world keep us from seeing the true friends sent us from above,
But it is at such a time as this that our relationships are put to the test, and the true friends stick closer than a brother,
And the love of our soul mate become more strongly felt than that of a mother,

In marriage, there are times when we are tempted to jettison the chastity vows of the institution,
There are also times when we are tempted to give into a compromise, which may lead to a lifetime of Syphilis from the cistern of an embodiment of prostitution,
However, it is at such a time as this that we are meant to ponder over the significance of the marriage vow,
And to the world our fidelity show,

In trade and business, there are times when we watch with painful hearts, all our life's toil crumble down,
And we in dismay, feel down,
But on the bright side, it is at such a time as this that life presents us with opportunities to move over,
To a better place and a brighter side, and with keenness and acumen, start over,

Even in education, there are times when we are faced with the desire for competition,
And the passion to be praised alter our disposition,
 Ergo, we often times forget, it is at such a time as this that we consider the real essence of education;
Not to amass awards and recognition, but to be empowered to positively affect our generation.

WHAT A WORLD!

Friends, we live in a world in which the unpredictable wind of life drives us in unexpected ends,
A world in which the restless seas of life drowns even the most skilful of captains,
However, in the face of these situations which tend to obfuscate us,
We should not treat with negligence,
The fact that the key to our destinies lies in our hands,
What a world! One characterized by irony!

In this jungle brothers, no definite trend is typical or fixed,
We are therefore architects of our lives,
For some folks step into life wretched, and depart affluent,
Others tread its path wallowing in luxury, but get past the finished line beggars,
Still in this jungle, brethren,
While some fellows die from the pangs of hunger and poverty,
Others have so much as to cast to the dogs,
What a world! One that typifies sheer contradiction!

As we sail along this open sea folks,
We realize that while some maidens seek a spouse no matter what they like look like,
Others emphasize appearance and looks,
More so, a lot more others are after fame and fortune,
Also along these waterways called life,
We observe that while some women wet their pillows at night for a lack of a single offspring,
Others have not stopped counting,
More over, others have had their health jeopardized by obstinate progeny,
What a world! One typical of dissatisfaction and unfairness!

Finally fellow country men, as some of us plod through the vegetation of this thick forest, downcast,
We should not make light this indispensable principal of life;
Life can either be good, bad or worse,
But we can choose to affect life, and be happy, or be affected by life and remain sad,
We are therefore a product of our attitude,
Attitudes, yes attitudes; they either make or mar us,
For while some see the forest as a place of equal opportunities,
Where the top is open to all who persevere,
Others make endless lists of why they can't make it,
What a world! One pillared on attitude!
