Our Generation

May our generation never forget the real men,
The heroes, the great men who fought for the peace of our great nation;
May our generation never live to forget those who stayed awake all night,
Just to put us to a good sleep;
May the memories of those who made our world a better place remain indelible upon the tablets of our mind,

May we never forget those who fought to unite the blacks and the whites,
And extinguished the fires of racism and discrimination;
May our generation erect memorials for those patriots and nationals who pledged allegiance to our great country,
May we never erase from our minds, the works of those faithful wives who kept the family together, and never let anyone taste of their honor,
While our veterans, their husbands, were out on the battle ground,

Oh may the contribution of those behind the scenes, never be left out,
When the annals of history are opened,
And when the chronicles of events are told,
May we also never forget those children who weathered the storms of congenital inhibitions to be great in life,
Oh may the memories of those who once considered failures, brought about discoveries that changed our world, remain unforgettable,
And may the accomplishments of the great leaders of our great nation remain alive forever.

Behind the Clouds

So dark and angry the troubled clouds seem,
Ready to let out the rains,
So unfriendly they look unwilling to let out a smile,
Worry not my friend,
For behind the clouds awaits the sunshine ready to shine happiness into your life,

For after the rains come the sun with glad tidings,
After the sowing comes the reaping,
After the planting comes the harvest,
And after the turmoil comes the treasure,

Like chaff the gloomy days shall be blown away,
And like the eagle they shall soar away far up to the skies,
Out of sight and reach,
And like a waterfall the bright days shall flood our souls,
Like the wind they shall blow away our travails,

Then we shall smile again,
We shall sing and dance again,
And make merry,
We shall drink from the cisterns of our wives again,
And enjoy the pleasures of fatherhood as we watch our kids frolic around us,
Our entrepreneurs shall be restored,
And we shall forever break loose from the shackles of poverty.

Memories

They sojourn the mind path from the past to the present,
They we either revere or cast away,
They either build or tear us down;
Make or mar us,
Stagnate or prosper us,

We can either use or abuse them,
They either overcome us, or we overcome them,
They either prevent future loss, or future disaster,
They teach us to live in the present, rightly or wrongly.

What is Life?

What is life if it is to be lived without a purpose and has no direction,
Of what use is the breath of human,
If it has no ups and downs to make it stronger,
Trivial life will become if we let the grave be enriched by our talents, rather than stream them into humanity, for a legacy and for posterity;

Worthless is our sojourn through mother earth,
If we don't end up with our creator,
Tasteless is life without someone to love,
Without someone to call your own,
Without someone to share your burdens with.
And useless are riches and wealth,
If not used for the betterment of humanity,
Really What is Life?

Leaving A Legacy

In life there comes a time when history has to speak for us,
When our works are to be read out upon opening the annals of time,
When we have to leave indelible footprints on the dusty lanes of life as we walk pass;

It's a time,
When what you knew matters not, but what you taught,
When what you earned becomes insignificant, but what you gave,
When your intentions become irrelevant, but your acts,
When competence avails not, but character,
When prestige becomes mute, but impact speaks out loud;

It's a time when the greatest monuments are mentally, but not physically felt,
It's a time when you have got to labor for the favor of generations unborn,
It's a time when you have got to stay awake to put someone to a good sleep,
It's a time when above all, in all, from all and by all,
Following the right means,
You have got to leave a legacy.

A Beacon of Hope

Though I come from a place far beyond the seas, and the landforms,
Though I emerge from a region, parochial or rural,
Though I am of a nation, not yet of age and characteristically toned in dark skin,
Though I be of a country with certain prodigious challenges,
And though I was not conceived into royalty or riches,

I am not moved, neither waved,
My true nature remains unaltered, and my disposition unchanged,
My virtues thrive still, and my character thoroughly tested, remains unaffected by the winds of geographical mobility,
Like a well-seasoned tropical wood, I stand the test of time, serving the purpose for which I'm meant,
And as a carefully planted and well-nurtured plant, I live, surviving mighty winds of life,
Growing from the trouble-filled rains of life, and developing by the painful heat of life's sunlight,

For I am the long-awaited beacon of hope,
The long-desired ray of joy,
The long-prophesied beam of laughter,
The wizard with the charm to impact my generation, and destinies change,
And the mind which shall the long-hidden treasure chest of this age, reveal and unlock.

Fleeting Moments

As we journey through life,
We are often plagued with painful plights and sorrowful ordeals, for which we weep,
We often are surrounded by a vicious cycle of troubles, for which we cry,
And an unending path of difficulties seem to lie ahead of us, for which we sit in despondency,

But we are encouraged to hold on,
We are urged to drench our minds in thoughts of optimism,
We are implored to rid our lives of feelings of pessimism,
And to cling tenaciously to the strings of patience and the ropes of endurance,

For the challenges which to us, insurmountable seem;
These problems which in our lives unresolved, remain,
Are but fleeting moments, which pass away with the winds of patience,
They are but fading experiences, which are washed off by the springs of endurance,
And momentary incidences they will remain, the impact of which in the midst of perseverance, wane,
So hold on, your change is coming; your best days are still ahead.

Just Believe!

Though the mountains seem insurmountable,
The hills with ruggedness rip off the soles of your feet,
The valleys seem too low and unpleasant to tread,
And the woods too grueling to plod,
Just believe! For your God is a God that makes all things possible,

Though the winds of life seem not to believe in your resilience as they toss you to and fro,
And the ocean of situations with contempt treat your confidence, drowning you in a vicious cycle of challenges,
Though the lions of uncertainties roar a fluttering pulse into the chambers of your heart,
And the blaze of life threatens to burn to ashes, the pieces of your broken life,
Just believe! 'Cos the God you serve is well able to see you through and restore every shaky or broken foundations in your life and family,

Though the world magnifies your weaknesses, and undermines your strengths,
Fret not, for the courage with which the elephant thunderously marches through the forest, comes from within,
The strength of the eagle with which it soars so up high in the open skies, lies in it's determination;
Therefore put on the whole armor of grit, resilience and purpose to triumph in the battles which life at you, are hurled,
And just believe! For He (God) that is in you is greater than he that is in the world (the devil),

Gird yourself for the navigation through the restless seas of life, your only compass being your vision, your purpose your map, and your God, your guide,
For between failure and success lies a thin line; attitude,
Between dreams and their actualization exists a bridge; the mind,
And your are the only feasible obstacle capable of ruining your life's purpose,
If you don't believe! For without faith it is impossible to please God,

Look within, for deep within you lies the beacon of hope, the hopeless world awaits,
Far within your mind, exists the bravery to weather life's storms,
Deep into the soils of your soul,the roots of the virtues to climb up the rungs of success have anchorage,
And right in your palms, are the keys to unlock the golden age your generation yearns,
If your just believe! For eyes have not seen, ears have not heard, neither has it entered into the hearts of men what God has in mind for you. You have been called out, sanctified and set aside for His purpose.
So, just believe! For your best days are still ahead!
Peace!
