THE TRUE STARS

They are not the celebrities we celebrate,
Or the divas we admire,
Neither are they the media personalities we adore,
Nor the rich and famous we exalt,

Hidden from the cameras they are,
Far from the spotlights they remain,
The unrecognized of the media, they exist as,
And unknown to fame they continue,

They were not born with a silver spoon in their mouths,
Or conceived into royalty,
Neither were surrounded by an opulence of wealth at  their delivery,
Nor drenched in riches upon their arrival into this world,

But they are the hands behind the scenes,
The stars that shine from the darkest clouds,
The ones with a purpose for which they live,
And the true heroes of our generation,

They are those that weathered the storms of congenital defects and lineal disabilities,
To rise to the top and remained humble,
The actual movers and shakers of our world,
The ones that teach the little classes that produce the biggest presidents,
The ones that work the dirty jobs in the tunnels to put up the bright lights,
The ones that make the most impact in their communities,
They are the pillars of the downtrodden and the helping hand of the destitute of the society,
They are those with a big heart for humanity and the souls of men,
Those who go to any length to save a life, and salvage a soul,
Those, folks, are the real stars!

HOW ART THE MIGHTY FALLEN!

Once they were, mighty, strong and powerful,
Men of valor they were,
Men of a noble reputation they lived as,
And a great assembly of bravery and courage, their description spelled,
But How Art the Mighty Fallen!
And the crown taken from the kings!

Invincible monarchies they captured,
Indomitable kings humbled,
Powerful kingdoms they seized,
Gigantic castles destroyed,
And great empires annihilated,
But How Art the Mighty Fallen!
And the predators taken prey!

The art of war they defined,
The war fronts subdued,
To the battlegrounds, their feet became well-known,
The fiercest combats they dared to fight, conquered and brought home victory,
But How Art the Mighty Fallen!
And the conquerors conquered!

FRIENDSHIP

It is a bond of life, provided it is true,
It unites enemies and drowns rivalry,
Like blood it is the water of life, for no man is an island,

True friendship is one built on the cohesive bond of agape love,
Not on the frivolities and triviality of an erotic instinct,
Its bond transcend the physical and anchors on the soul,
It is therefore, immortal!

Marriage is a form of it,
Love is the definition of it,
And unconditional togetherness speak its language,
Brotherhood, sisterhood, and family unity are engraved in the tablets of its mind,

When was the last time you showed true friendship,
When was the last time you showed true love in a relationship,
He that wants a friend must first show himself friendly,
For there is a friend that sticks closer than a brother, really,
Take the time to be a true friend,
And show true love to a true friend.
Peace.

TIME CANNOT KILL

After all these years of been together,
It still feels like just yesterday that we met,
Right from the first instance, I knew our love will last forever,
And right now, like a solidified concrete, our love is set,
Bound together by the cords of time,
Still rising to its prime,
With each break of dawn,
And after all is said and done,
I realize that not even time can kill,
Not even the clock of biology can stifle, this love I feel,

Honey, everyday with you is sweeter than the day before,
And after each night with you, I can't help but ask for more,
I'm grateful to God for you, for your beauty and love are timeless,
Constantly being renewed with each passing day,
Gradually been revived with each passing day,
Even in old age, you're still my baby girl,
I still want to kiss your lips, look into your eyes and call you, "baby girl,"
Through the ages gone,
Through decades gone,
Through the passage of time,
Your love has persisted and thrived, always alive on my mind,
Not even time was able to kill,
This love I feel,
And on this special day, after all these years, I still want to say, "I love you."

MUSIC TO MY EARS

It's this feeling in my heart when I see you,
It's this joy in my spirit when you say, "I love you too,"
Baby it's this feeling of ecstasy in my bowels when you touch me,
And this feeling in my soul, when you say, "our love is meant to be,"
Baby, it's music to my ears when I see you,
Melodies in my heart when you say, "I love you too,"

How can I explain this love that I feel for you,
Through the thick and thin, the storms and the sorrows, and all we've been through,
You've remained faithful renewing your love for me with each passing day,
May the day you were born forever remain blessed, I pray,
What more can I say? It's music to my ears when I see you,
And melodies in my heart when you say, "I love you too,"

I still remember with elation the day our paths crossed,
And the day we said, "I do," and I gave you my trust,
And entrusted my heart in your care,
And you took and placed it deep in your soul, my dear,
If I born again, and reborn again, you'll remain my love,
The only one true love sent me from above,

It's with this heart that I feel,
And this love in my heart, nothing can kill,
Music to my ears when I see you,
Melodies in my heart, when you say, "I love you too,"
Darling, I'm satisfied by your beauty,
Pacified by your personality,
And glorified by your entity,
Baby I'm trying to end this piece,
But the love in my heart has been split into pieces,
It's over-flown its banks, I can no longer contain it,
For I recall how you came into my life, and made it well-lit,
With the rays of your fidelity, and selfless love,
I am moved to tears right now; for you loved me just the way I was,
I just want to say thank you,
For as long as we live, even in death,
You will remain my breath,
And you will always be, music to my ears when I see you,
And melodies in my  heart when you say, "I love you too,"
I love you.
