MY SILVER LINING

She is the reason I wake up each day with a smile on my face,
The reason I'm always in a better place,
She is the reason I can look forward to the future with hope,
And in spite of my many troubles and struggles, she remains the reason I can still cope,
She is many things to me, but most of all,
She is the sunshine behind my dark clouds-the reason I fear no fall,
And in the midst of my grey clouds, she remains My Silver Lining,

What more do I need when I have this divine creature in my life,
What more do I need when I'm blessed with an angel for a wife,
I thank the almighty for her life,
For I remember when I first met her, many said she wasn't right for me,
But I ignored them and it didn't take long for me to realize we were meant to be,
Thank you baby for loving me in spite of my imperfections,
Thank you for always leading me in the right directions,

Today, as I take you down the aisle,
There's something I'd always wanted to say for a while,
Here it is: till my dying day you would be my heart,
And for eternity we would never be torn apart,

So let time stop, let the world come crumbling down,
Let the universe change its rotational circle, and the stars come falling down,
I would never stop loving you, 'cos you are My Silver Lining,
Let people talk all they want, trying to put between us a distance,
Let them spread rumors about you, trying to end our love's existence,
They're just wasting time, 'cos after all is said and done, we would be together,
Two inseparable lovebirds, always flocking together,
Thanks for being My Silver Lining. I love you!

LIFE WITH YOU...

Baby, I wasn't kidding when I said everyday with you,
Is sweeter than the day before,
Really, I wasn't flattering you,
And I want you to know this for sure,
I truly and sincerely love you,
It's like I'm sick with you, and I don't need no cure,
It's like your love is a migraine headache,
So strong in my heart and head, and I don't need a paramedic,

Baby, violets are blue,
And roses are red,
That is true,
But I've got something better in my head,
Diamonds are costly, and my love is true,
So, I'll give you diamonds instead,
Not just roses and violet; for life with you,
Is something money cannot afford,
So if it means buying you the world, baby I'm prepared,

Baby, please get on board with me,
Let me take you on the adventure of your life,
Just you and me and all the good things of life, you see?
Just say yes to me, and be my wife,
Please, for I am prepared to make you free,
From suffering, struggling, hustling and all the worries of your life,
I am prepared to give your love, care, respect, adoration, admiration, all for free,
Just in exchange for your true love, I would even add material provision on top too if you just be my wife,
For life with you is all I need in my life.

TEENAGE EXUBERANCE-PART THREE

But as these thoughts run through my mind, I am reminded of the fact that this child was destined for greatness, God created it for a purpose. I am also made to understand that this NIGHTMARE of YOUTHFUL EXUBERANCE is not inevitable; it is avoidable, if the two most important parties concerned (the parents and the child) play their individual roles. In my few years of studying, reading and interaction with people, I have come to understand that at birth the child is considered a “tabular rasa” or “clean slate” and its mind is pliable-susceptible to influence and indoctrination. Hence the Bible book of Proverbs holds its application here, “train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he would not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). Dear parent; mother or father, are you too busy to begin the inscription of godly and moral values on the “clean slate” of your child’s mind? Are you so much of a workaholic or even a “shopaholic” that you now live the upbringing of your child to the society? Remember that there are three factors that affect a child’s development-Nature (the genetic composition of the child, which are congenital; the child is born with it), Nurture (which refers to parental upbringing or child training) and Environment or the Society (which constitutes the acquired traits of the child). In all these, the last two hold a significant influence on a child’s life, that is, Nurture and Environment or the Society.
